1. The
cemeteries are open to the public from sunrise to sunset, otherwise
permission must obtained from the Sexton.
Indiscriminate ingress and egress will not be permitted.
2. Children at all times must be under the immediate care of
parents or guardian.
3. Lot
Deeds are not transferable.
4. Resting or lolling on the grass, sitting upon a monument,
seat or other adornment upon a lot, or idly loitering on same is
decidedly improper and will not be tolerated.
A quiet unobtrusive examination of the improvements made upon a
lot is not forbidden.
5. Pet animals are not permitted in the cemeteries unless
they remain confined within the owner’s vehicle.
The only exception to this rule are animals used to assist
visual or hearing-impaired persons and must remain under the control
of their owner by leash or harness.
6. The
Sexton and every employee of the cemeteries are especially charged
with the responsibility of the above rules.
7. Every
proper privilege will be freely extended to the lot-holders and other
visitors who conduct themselves becomingly.
A cemetery, however, is neither a playground nor public park,
but the last resting place of the departed, and the properties of the
place should be preserved, and, if necessary, vigorously protected.
8. The
speed limit of all vehicles, not to exceed 10 miles per hour.
9. All
persons are prohibited from plucking any flowers, either wild or
cultivated, breaking or injuring any tree, plant, or shrub, or any way
injuring any monument, vault, or other structure.
10. No
running, jumping, laughing, whistling, singing, loud talking, or any
other practice that would indicate a want of reverence, or in any
manner disturb the quiet and good order of the place, will under any
circumstances, be permitted.
11. No
person will be allowed to drive over any part of the grounds except
roadways provided for that purpose.
12. No
person will be allowed to enter the grounds except through the gates.
All climbing over, breaking down, or scaling fences, or
injuring the same, is positively forbidden and subject to prosecution.
13. The hauling of monuments or other heavy hauling over the avenues of the cemetery must not exceed a load limit of five tons without permission.
14. To
prevent injury to adjoining lots, and to preserve the beauty of the
grounds, no trees, shrubs or flowers shall be planted on lots, or any
tree or shrub cut down, removed or trimmed.
Such work must be done by employees of the cemetery only.
15. All
corner stones are to be set level with top of ground by employees of
the cemetery under direction of the Sexton.
16. All
grave markers and monument shall be granite, marble or bronze and any
exception to this shall have the approval of the Board of Trustees.
17. The
Township will not be responsible for damage to monuments, markers and
stones in the cemeteries caused in ordinary care of the cemetery.
18. Refuse
receptacles are provided and so marked for visitors to discard and
deposit trash. Your
cooperation is respectfully requested to help keep cemeteries neat and
clean.
19. Flowers
and receptacles will be removed from graves five days after major
holidays or funerals. During
grass cutting season all decorations, flowers and receptacles must be
affixed to the monument. All flowers and receptacles found on the
ground will be removed.
20. Trustees
will not be responsible for any accident which may happen on Township
cemetery property.
21. Trustees
will not be responsible for any property etc., which disappears from
Township cemetery property which is not owned by the cemeteries.
