DARE To Adventure!*

Join Miami Township Police Officer Kevin Petrocelli for 5 days of DARE 
(Drug Awareness Resistance Education) summer camp. Adventures abound while spending time 
working on self-esteem and team building exercises. Activities may include rock climbing, putt putt golf, 
rafting, and wet playground.

DARE- Ultimate*

This camp is not for the faint of heart. Campers will be involved with challenging activities such 
as low & high ropes course, rafting and DARE Olympics. *activities are subject to change

 

DARE - Extreme!*

June 23 - 27; 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; Miami Meadows Main Pavilion; ages 10 - 13;

Join Miami Township Police Officer Kevin Petrocelli for 5 days of challenges. Campers will 
work on team building skills and self-esteem through challenging activities. Activities may 
include rafting, team challenges, and indoor rock climbing.

Fairy Tale Wonders

June 23-27; Paxton Ramsey Park; 9 - 11:30 a.m.; ages 5-7; 
$60 Miami Township Resident; $75 non-resident 

This camp for girls will whisk them away into a magical kingdom for a week of adventure! 
Not only will the girls make and decorate their own princess crowns, magic wands & fairy dust, 
but they will experience many classic fairy tales through stories, life size board games, and 
decorating crafts fit for a queen! Create a magical pop-up book and picture frame.

Friendship Challenge 

July 14 - 18; 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 - 3:00 p.m.; Miami Township Civic Center
ages 12 - 13; $55 Miami Township Resident; $69 non-resident; 

Put yourself and your friends to the test with our Friendship Challenge. Pairs of friends will 
work together to accomplish low-ropes style tasks that encourage friendship, trust, communication, 
and teamwork. Drew Thiele has a vast experience in low-ropes instruction and will work with groups 
to help them grow as friends. Campers enroll in pairs and both registrations must be turned in at 
the same time.

 

Fun in the Sun

August 4 - 8; 2 :00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Miami Riverview; ages 8-12; 
$65 Miami Township Resident; $81 non-resident;

Join Carrie Burger the Milford Junior High School Physical Education Teacher for this summer
camp that is going to be lots of fun in the sun! Learn a survival game called Pashua, a version of
many different types of games, like tag and hide-n-seek.  Have fun with hula hoops, capture the flag, 
across the ocean, kickball,  parachute activities & obstacle course.  Campers bring your jump rope 
each day and practice for the jump rope challenge on the last day. Bring a water bottle and a healthy snack. Lots of fun in the sun.  bring water and wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes, & sunscreen.


 


MAGIC Camp I

This MAGIC class is taught by Jason Jacobs, teacher at Meadowview Elementary, who will teach 
you basic magic tricks each day. You can take the tricks home and dazzle your family and friends 
with your newfound hobby.

MAGIC Camp II 

July 14 - 16; 1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.; grades 1 - 3; 2:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.; grades 4 - 6;

Amazing Numbers and Puzzles

This camp is lead by Heather Corbly, a senior at Miami University (graduating in May) majoring in
Middle Childhood education specializing in math.  If your child likes solving puzzles, math extensions,
or exploratory activities, this is going to be a fun-filled week of learning!

 

Pirate Camp

August 4 - 8; 9:00 a.m. - noon; Miami Meadows Main Pavilion; ages 8 - 12;

Arrrrrrrr yous a lookin’ for a camp filled with bandana blazin’ captains an crew, adventurous coin diggin’ treasure hunts, and sparkly trinkets that are meant for keeps?  Ahoy me matey this camp is for you! Cap’n Logan is a searchin’ for a fresh new crew!  All me pirates will be a learnin’ some of the pirate’s codes and history. Mes and my crew will also bes a makin’ treasure maps, pirate hats, and gadgets to be stowed away. At the ends of our journey we will a wear outrageous caps, pirate sashes, and raggedy clothes to show our pirate pride.  Arrrrrr you ready my mate, for an adventure upon my ship?


Super Rescue Squad Camp

July 21 - 25; 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; Miami Riverview; ages 6 - 8;

Kids join Camp Leader, Amanda Duffy, for this week long adventure that will take you into 
he  lives of your favorite super heroes. This camp will be for kids who want to take their super 
powers to the  next level by making comic books, real-life size heroes and other super activities

Survivor Challenge III Camp

June 9 - 13; 9:00 a.m. - noon; or 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Back for our third summer, this camp is lots of fun!  We will have new challenges, obstacle courses, 
and our favorites, the food challenge and the camping challenge.  Sign up early.  This camp fills quickly!  
Bring water daily.  Snack will be provided.


Wonderful World of Water

July 7 - 11; 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.; Community Park; ages 6 - 9;
$65 Miami Township Resident; $81 non-resident;

Come and enjoy the afternoon with some water fun!!  Wear a bathing suit daily, 
because you will definitely be wet!! We will have the park set up with a variety of water 
play activities.  Along with some water balloons, shooters, and wade pools, there is sure 
to be fun for all.  Please be sure to sun screen your child before dropping them off.

 




   
Young Rembrandt Camps


African Safari Camp

June 23-25; 2-3:30 pm; MTCC; ages 6-12; $55 R; $69 NR;
Go on a Safari adventure with Young Rembrandts! Exploring land and many animals that inhabit Africa is exciting! We will draw animals in various scenes with different media. To further stimulate our artists' minds, we will discover the African Safari through the fun technique of animation as well. We will even challenge students' talents by creating two large scenes - one using graphic style filled with a variety of animals and another focusing on the twists and turns of an African snake completed with pastel chalks. Our exploration through Africa allows for a bounty of adventure and creativity!

Anime Cartoon Camp

July 15-17; 2-3:30 pm; MTCC; ages 6-12; $55 R; $69 NR
The interest in Japanese animation, or Anime, continues to grow! And who better to show you how to draw than Young Rembrandts? Just like Manga (Japanese comic books), Anime has a distinct and instantly recognizable style. It's less action driven than Western animation, focusing more on the characters within the stories. Students will learn to create their own original Anime characters while using a variety of facial expressions, action and movement to illustrate our scenes.

Junior Teddy Bear Camp

Aug. 4-6; 2-3:30 pm; MTCC; ages 5-7; $55 R; $69 NR;
Teddy bears galore! Join the craze for personalized teddy bears by drawing your favorite bear in a variety of outfits. Enjoy drawing an assortment of bears in a wardrobe of costume choices and settings. Learn fur techniques, different clothing styles and the fun of accessorizing!


Things that go "Zoom!" Camp

July 28-30; 2-3:30 pm; MTCC; ages 5-7; $55 R; $69 NR;
Learn to draw all the different modes of transportation we use to get around, maybe even some we haven't used! Cars, trucks, airplanes, helicopters and more will fill our drawings. We will complete our last day with one large scene including as many roads, bridges and vehicles as we can draw.
