Join us for the outdoor concert series at the Community Park Performance Pavilion at 
5951 Buckwheat Road from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 pm on the following dates:

Family Dance Mania

Friday, May 23; 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.; Miami Township Civic Center, 6101 Meijer Drive;
$5 Miami Township Resident per person; $6 non-resident per person; 

Bring the whole family for an evening of dancing and fun! Kim Boardman will lead the 
evening including instruction in group/line dances in a variety of styles as well as some other
activities designed to keep you moving and smiling, including a limbo and hula hoop contest. 
Pre-registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.


Pottery Handbuilding & Painting Class 

Tuesday, August 5 & 12; 10:00 - 11:15 a.m.
Miami Township Civic Center
ages 5+
$10 per adult plus $20 Miami Township Resident Child; 
$10 per adult plus $25 non-resident child; 
This activity is designed for families with kids. Join us as we learn with clay and pottery paints. We'll create some really cool pieces from clay that will get fired in the kiln. Then we'll paint them and some other pieces using mega-fun techniques. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. This class is in partnership with Ann Flynn, Star Glazers. All supplies provided. The created work will be returned to the Miami Township Civic center for pick up at a later date.

 

Inline Skating Class 

Monday, June 9 - 30 and/or September 8 - 29; 6:30-7:30 p.m. 
Miami Meadows Park, 1546 St. Rt. 131
$20 Miami Township Resident per session; $25 non-resident per session

Do you want to learn how to start/stop, improve your turns or learn to skate backwards? This class is being lead by Brian Lindsay who has been an avid skater for 30 years. Group lessons are an excellent social and good fun! This class is available to skaters of all levels for women, men, and kids 12+ must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up early because the class maximum is only 15. This class is sponsored by Lindsay's Personal Fitness Training. Students bring your own skates, helmet, wrist, elbow and knee guards.



Learn Archery! 

Saturday, July 26
11:00 - noon or noon - 1:00 or 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Miami Meadows Park

$3 Miami Township Resident; $4 non-resident
Jeff Foster from the Gophers Archery Pro Shop will teach you archery. He will provide all the equipment
and discuss safety and technique. This class is available to women, men, and children ages 6 and up 
accompanied by an adult. Only 10-12 participants per hour.



 

Miami Township Family Golf Day Event 

Monday, June 23 
$10 Miami Township Resident family; $15 non-resident family; (up to 4 members)
ages 3+

Bring your entire family to Mulberry Golf Club, 5914 Wolfpen Pleasant Hill Road, for a round of golf intended for adult and youth beginners. This is a friendly course designed for the novice player. Pre-registration and payment is required at the Miami Township Recreation Department; however, you must call 831-3448 to set up a tee time. 
Club rental is available or bring your own for a fun family golf outing!

Family Tennis Clinic

Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, July 8, 9, & 10
5:45 - 6:45 p.m. or 6:45 - 7:45 p.m.
Community Park Tennis Courts
ages 7 to adults
$25 Miami Township Resident, $31 non-resident
$10 each additional family member

This special clinic is offered to families who wish to learn a sport the entire family can enjoy. 
The class is taught by Milford Tennis Coach, Nancy Haines and will offer drills and fun games 
geared to the beginner player of any age. Limited space.

 


 

 

Harvest Festival & Community Bonfire

Join us for Miami Townships 4th annual Harvest Festival and Bonfire. From 7:00 -8:30 kids will 
enjoy crafts, scare crow decorating and storytelling. Keep warm by the bonfire while enjoying live 
music by "One Iota" an original, contemporary blue grass band featuring traditional & gospel blue 
grass music heard locally on WOBO, WAIF and WNKU. CPAAA will be offering beverages, 
snacks & water for sale and the proceeds benefit the Miami Township Citizen Police Academy 
Alumni Association.

Beading Jewelry Making Class

Thursday, November 6 and/or Monday, November 10; 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Miami Township Civic Center
$30 Miami Township Resident; $38 non-resident

Create your own unique jewelry using a wide variety of sterling silver and glass beads. In one 
evening you will learn basic beading techniques, including how to repair some of your own favorite
 broken jewelry! Use your new skills in class to fashion two pieces of jewelry (necklace, bracelet or
 earrings). No experience necessary. Students may also bring their own beads or old costume 
jewelry to remake into new pieces. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
