The Miami Township Board of Trustees met in special session Monday, July 22,1996 at 12:00 noon at the Miami Township Civic Center. The purpose of this meeting was for bid openings. Vice Chairperson, Jean Schmidt opened the meeting. Chairperson Joe Uecker and Clerk, Eric Ferry were unable to attend this meeting due to a conflict with their other jobs. Jo Brotherton acted as clerk. Ms. Brotherton called the roll. In attendance were Jean Schmidt and Edwin H. Humphrey.
Mr. Walter Fischer, Service Director advised the Board that Miami Township is eligible to file for disaster relief as a result of the flooding damage that occurred in May, 1996. Ed Humphrey made a motion to adopt the Resolution 96- , authorizing the Township Service Director to file an application with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for disaster assistance. Jean Schmidt seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all voted "AYE".
Mr. Fischer recommended the Board accept the low bid of $415,612.20 from Jeffery Allen for the Price Road Park project. Ed Humphrey made a motion to accept the bid from Jeffery Allen of $415,612.20 for the Price Road Project. Jean Schmidt seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all voted "AYE".
Ed Humphrey made a motion to authorize Township Administrator, David Duckworth, to sign the contract with Jeffery Allen on behalf of the Board of Trustees. Jean Schmidt seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all voted "AYE".
Ed Humphrey made a motion to accept the bid of $313,000.00 from Seitz Builders for the Salt Dome Project and authorize Mr. Duckworth to sign the contract on behalf of the Board of Trustees. Jean Schmidt seconded the motion. Upon roll call, all voted "AYE".
With no further business to come before the Board, Vice Chairperson Schmidt adjourned the meeting at 12:05 PM.
