Three juveniles charged in 60 counts of damaging

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Clermont County (April 20) - The Miami Township Police department have charged three Miami Township juveniles with 60 counts of criminal damaging and vandalism after a destructive rampage April 9 that damaged yards and property of 19 homeowners in the Wood Creek Subdivision and Hidden Ridge Subdivision.

All of the juveniles are between the ages of 12 and 14. Miami Township Police Officer Keith Bullock, who conducted the investigation and made the arrests, said the juveniles admitted to the crimes, which occurred after midnight on April 9 and total well over $8,000 in damages to various homeowners' property.

"These are completely senseless acts by delinquents, and we are pressing full charges against them," Miami Township Police Chief Bailey said. "They may have believed no one was harmed here, but several people are out thousands of dollars in damages because of these juveniles."

The charges include 51 counts of criminal damaging, six counts of vandalism, and three counts of tampering with a traffic sign. One of the juveniles lives in the Wood Creek subdivision, while the other two live elsewhere in the township.
Chief Bailey said the three juveniles have also confessed to several other property crimes and vandalism over the last several months. Charges are pending in those cases.

"We have stepped up our patrols in neighborhoods to catch individuals who do this type of activity for no other reason than to amuse themselves," Chief Bailey said. "Eventually, a Miami Township policeman like Officer Bullock will come knocking on their door and put handcuffs on them."
