There were no scheduled public hearings. The Zoning Commission
set two zoning cases. Case 514 which
amends several chapters of the Zoning Resolution and Case 515 which
requests a rezoning of 4.8 acres from
R-2
to B-1 with a Planned Business Overlay for property located in
Middleton Oaks.

The Miami Township Zoning Commission met on Thursday, October 4, 2006 and considered and took action on the following:
[Case 513] Applicant: Miami Township Zoning
Commission. This case was a text amendment revising
several
sections the Miami Township Zoning Resolution. The major revisions related to
buffer yards, business
district setbacks and fencing. After
a public hearing the Zoning Commission voted to recommend the
Township Trustees adopt the proposed amendments.

The Miami Township Zoning Commission met on Thursday, June 1, 2006
and considered and took action on the following:
Thornhill Condominiums - The applicant Hopewell Homes presented their
plans for Thornhill Condominiums and
described how the project met the intent of the SR 28
Redevelopment Plan and the intent of the Zoning
Resolution. The Zoning Commission members had questions relating
to the architectural detail of the buildings,
the landscaping and the amenities. The Zoning Commission
supported the overall concept plan, but requested
additional detail. After some discussion the Zoning Commission
voted to approve the preliminary plan with
additional details to come before the Zoning Commission in July.
The Miami Township Zoning Commission met on Thursday, May 4, 2006
and considered and took action on the following:
There were no scheduled public hearings. The Zoning Commission
met in work session to review a proposed
condominium development planned for the north side of Montclair
Blvd. This is the first project reviewed under
the SR 28 Urban Village Planned Unit Development regulations.
The project consists of 48 condominium units
located in 24 duplex buildings. The Zoning Commission set a
meeting to formally review the plans on June 1,
2006.
The Miami Township Zoning Commission met on Thursday, April 6, 2006 and considered and took action on the following:
[Case 511] Applicant: Miami Township Zoning
Commission. This case was a text amendment revising the Miami
Township sign regulations. The major revisions related to retail
signage. Signage would be regulated on a
graduated scale using building square footage as a guide. After
a public hearing the Zoning Commission
voted to recommend the Township Trustees adopt the proposed amendment
to the sign regulations.
The Miami Township Zoning Commission met on Thursday, March 2, 2006
and considered and took action on the following:
There were no public hearing scheduled for this meeting. The Zoning
Commission discussion proposed
amendments to the sign regulations. Finding the proposed amendments in
order the zoning commission set
a public hearing date on the amendment. The public hearing is set for
Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 7:30 PM.
The Miami Township Zoning Commission met on Thursday, February 2, 2006
and considered and took action on the following:
[Case 510] Applicant: Hines Griffin. The applicant
is requesting to rezone 55 acres on the south side of Wards
Corner
Road from "R-1" Single Family to "B-1"
Neighborhood Business and "R-PUD" Planned Unit
Development.
The property is located directly west of 413 Wards Corner Road. The
applicant is proposing three office/retail
buildings on the "B-1" property and 88 detached condominiums
on the "R-PUD" property. After a public
hearing the Zoning Commission voted to recommend the zone change
request be approved.
The Miami Township Zoning Commission met on Thursday, January 5, 2006
and considered and took action on the following:
[Case 511] Applicant: Izzi Improvements. The
applicant requested to rezone .81 acres located at 1081 SR 131 from
R-1
Single Family Residence to "O" Professional Office. The
purpose of the rezoning is to use the existing
structure as an office building. The property is located between a
commercial area and a new single family
development. After a public hearing the Zoning Commission voted to
recommend to the Trustees the zone
change request be approved.
